about

An early 1970s-era photo of Vesna Vulovic. I'd say I look like her, but more Italian and with longer brown hair.

My name is Doutzen. I've been neck-deep in fannish culture since I was a giddy preteen in the late 2010s, I truly can't imagine myself any other way. My very first fandoms were Gravity Falls and Attack on Titan, which are what got me into reading and writing fanfiction in the first place. Since I was around 14, I became interested in older fandom culture, mostly consisting of the LiveJournal / Fanfiction.net era. I made several neocities websites over the years but abandoned most of them because of my rabid hatred for CSS. Now that I'm a big girl with a big girl job and in school for her big girl political science degree, I have the money for a domain and for neocities' supporter tier.

- What do you believe/what fandom-centric ideals should I email you death threats for?

Profiction, proship, ship and let ship, your kink is not my kink, do whatever you want forever. Cringe is freedom. Write all of your original characters to be drunk drug-addcit murdering rapists and you will be reincarnated as a lotus flower.

I consider myself a far-leftist though I don't subscribe to any particular school of thought.

- Who's the anime character plastered over your website?

Legato Bluesummers! I love him very much. I'm a shameless selfshipper/yumejoshi and soulbonder in training and I've "been with him" since March 10th, 2023. Yes I know he's not real, but as I said, cringe is freedom. I think he's one of the most misunderstood characters of the series, and while part of it is in service to Trigun's themes (Trigun is a masterpiece please read it please please please please please), it still makes me sad to know he didn't get the chance to truly be himself. And because canon is my plaything I'm going to ignore [spoiler redacted] and instead believe that we are happily married with a daughter.

- Besides fandom stuff, what other things are you into?

Internet history, assorted social science-related topics, politics. Really anything late 90s-early 2000s is my jam. Any music, tech, media, and fashion from 1996-2006 is almost gauranteed to end up either in my cd/dvd collection or reblogged on one of my tumblr sideblogs. Bonus points if it's more niche and you can't find any information about it online other than a Wayback Machine archive of someones fansite that got shut down in 2011. I plan on making a more in-depth page relating to music on here soon, though of course, the songs lie within the petals.
